About Me
I was elected in May 2019 and given the huge honour of representing the district of Mount Scio in the House of Assembly. I live in Mount Scio, but I grew up in Grand Falls-Windsor and lived and worked for three years in Oxford, United Kingdom. In August 2020 I was honoured to join Premier Furey’s cabinet as Minister of Digital Government and Service NL, Minister responsible for the Office of the Chief Information Officer and Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs.
My husband and I have made a concerted choice to live in Newfoundland and Labrador. In my former (pre-election) life, I led digital teams and created online services for insurance companies in Canada. I also spent time helping three key organizations drive change in Newfoundland and Labrador. Each with their own special place in my heart, I am a former board member of:
Memorial University’s Board of Regents, elected Alumni Representative
Former member of the Audit & Risk Committee
Former chair and member of numerous special appeal committees
Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology Industries (NATI)
C.A. Pippy Park Commission
Now in my current role I get to do amazing things like:
Study laws and bills, work with Ministers and department staff to ensure they are right for people in the District and the province.
Advocate on behalf of constituents to provincial government departments.
Help constituents navigate sometimes complex government programs, policies and unique circumstances.
Provide House of Assembly tours to youth and school groups
Strengthen relationships with organizations, groups, schools and residents of Mount Scio.
Discuss concerns, issues, priorities and opportunities with constituents.
